masteroftheseas:

Ossë rumbled a chatter and slid down the bed a bit so he could rest his head on Círdan’s chest. The change in position meant his hip was closer now to his knee as he curled and shifted his own legs around to still try to steal as much heat as he could. He looked almost childish, tucked in tight. “Not on you, no,“ he murmured with a smile. Beneath his ear was the steady drumming of his heart and the deep, surf-like sounds of breathing. It rivaled the songs of Ulmo. “Unless that’s one of your secret dreams, in which case, we’ll figure something out.”

He turned his head so he could peer up at Círdan, grinning broadly. His arms wound tightly around his waist, and he was half on top of him though somehow his usual bulk and weight seemed absent. “What do you dream about?“ he wondered, nuzzling his cheek against his pulse. “You do not have to tell me about the latest one, if you wish to keep it secret. Are they pleasant dreams? Do they feel real?”

Círdan was suddenly very careful how he moved his legs as they settled into a new position, he didn’t want to kick Ossë by accident.  There were times when the size difference was quite noticeable and at the moment, it was one of them.  A soft laugh escaped as he was careful not to snag his fingers as he threaded them through the still damp curls.  "I cannot say I have ever had pleasant dreams that involved lampreys,“ he admitted, smiling down to the maia when he looked up.

"The latest one was acted out just now,” a blush warmed his cheeks and ears at the confession.  He sat up enough to move his pillow behind his head so he could better see the other before he stretched and tried to flip the blanket over the both of them.  It would help Ossë steal some heat and he liked the feeling of being nestled under it with him, almost like it helped to seal them away from the rest of the world while they could manage it.

“I dream about all manner of things.  Sometimes they are memories but not quite, sometimes they are things that did happen but I was not there to see,” his smile fell at that thought before he continued and once again traced his fingers along Ossë’s cheek.  "Often times I dream of you though I do not think I normally say your name in the process!  They feel very real, alarmingly so sometimes.  I have had some that haunted me for days and others that I wished never ended.“
