Letters | Círdan & Poppy

poppybrownlock:

Poppy hesitated. Part of her very much wished to see more of the city, as she’d never seen anything quite like it. And having Círdan to guide her around promised to be an especial way to view the place, as he would know more of it than anyone else.

However, the second part of her realized that despite his claim, he likely had other responsibilities to tend to, and she found herself reluctant to take up more of his time.

“Are you sure it would not be a bother to you, if I wished to see more of the city?” she asked finally, hoping he wouldn’t be offended by such a question.

“Who would get mad at me, the Lord of Mithlond?” he laughed.  "Do not worry, pen neth, I am more than able to show you around and talk with you,“ a gentle smile was offered as he stood in the doorway, using the back of his heel to prop the door open.

He was going over things that needed to be attended to but many of them could be handled for the short term by Galdor.  He could oversee menus for dinner or arranging the dining halls, he could see to it that the musicians were gathered and prepared for the evening as well.  The ship was prepared and the inventory for the day had already been handled, those were the two pressing issues at hand and they were under control.

"Is there anything you would like to see first?  Whatever your heart might desire or your curiosity might steer you toward.”
