masteroftheseas:

Ossë couldn’t help a light chatter as Círdan attempted to get comfortable and ended up pressing against him quite interestingly. But he remained still, letting Círdan adjust and shift as he wanted, sliding his hand down to rest on his waist. When he rolled onto his back, Ossë still waited to be coaxed before he shifted closer again and curled at his side as he usually did.

“Mm, probably a good idea,” he rumbled, though he hesitated. Clicking a few times, he nuzzled his cheek against Círdan’s shoulder. “I won’t disturb your rest in that form?” Though the pain was much lessened, he didn’t want to accidentally hiss or grunt and upset the Elf’s sleep.

After another moment and reassurance, the bed shifted for his absence, then sunk a moment later under a larger and heavier presence. The Maia looked better, his blue its regular shade and his healing burns no longer angry and raw but just patches or lighter or darker blues. But he closed his eyes quickly, not sure how they must look and not wanting to alarm his companion. Quietly, he shifted again and curled himself into Círdan’s side to settle his head on his chest once more.

“Thank you. If I make you uncomfortable at all, let me know,” he murmured as he snuggled in for the night.

He had already considered the possibility of Ossë still being in some manner of pain or discomfort but he also knew if he ignored the fana, the healing process would be drawn out longer.  Círdan decided he would rather see him better soon than later and was willing to risk a lighter sleep than his own comfort.

He raised his head once he was joined by the larger, blue skinned form and made sure where he was looping an arm around him was not going to upset any of the burns.  Once he was sure it was okay, he smoothed his hand over the back of Ossë’s head, idly playing with his hair even as he relaxed his own head back against his pillow.  "I could say the same for you,“ he hummed, closing his eyes once more.

Even as he drifted off to sleep, he could not quite rid himself of the hint of a smile still playing at the corners of his mouth.  It had been a very, very good night and not one he was soon to forget.
