masteroftheseas:

Ossë chattered and shrugged a shoulder. “I’m stubborn about actually listening, you should know that,” he drawled. Of course he’d heard Círdan say he was happy, content, had all he wanted — plenty of times. Perhaps it was something he’d gotten from his brother and lord, perhaps it was a trait of the sea to over-think and doubt and question everything. Perhaps it was just stubbornness. Perhaps he could over-analyze right now, but it didn’t hold any appeal on dry land in warm arms.

It was strange how a simple declaration, a promise of affection, could make him feel so complete. He had his Uinen to ground and complete him, and his Círdan to challenge and complement him. Someone he didn’t have to worry was a balancing puzzle to him, someone who could be a part of his life and a part of him outside of the politics and the tasks and the destiny.

He was comfortable, snuggled close and tangled together as they had many times before, but closer than ever. His fana still thrummed with excitement but he ignored it, much happier to feel the soft stir of air on his face with each breath and the laziness that the heat inspired. After a short while he stirred and huffed, nuzzling lightly. “I take it this means I’m forgiven,” he drawled, lips curving up again. “In the future, I’ll make a better effort to listen to what you say.”

He chuckled as he listened to the other, thumb ghosting near the sensitive area where his gills were hidden but it was not what he was aiming for.  His hand smoothed over Ossë’s hip and around to the small of his back as he found a more relaxed and comfortable way to hold him close.

“You are always forgiven,” he voice was soft and kind.   Taking a cue from the maia and leaning forward to nip at his lip.  It was how Ossë had been showing his affection, so why not mirror it?  "I will always forgive you and you do listen,“ he added with another little nip.  Still it felt like his fëa was dancing and wanted to soar, really it was a manner of joy that he had not known in his lifetime.  He knew he was never going to face his future alone, he had friends at his sides but this changed it - it felt as though he would truly have someone at his side through all trials of life.  A thought passed through his mind - thoughts of making their place each others side undeniable - and his cheeks flushed again and there was no hiding the reaction his body had to it given the way they were nestled flush together.

"I should get some manner of sleep,” he mused after a moment, reaching up again to trail the backs of his fingers over Ossë’s cheek and then threading them back into his hair.  "Yet I cannot seem to find the ability to do so, I do not suppose you would know why that is, hmm?“ he teased with a laugh.  He knew he needed sleep, he could function without it but he was a more pleasant ellon when he managed it.
