Poppy considered this in silence for a few moments before speaking. "I do not think I could ever leave it. Not forever, at least. I enjoy occasionally traveling, but it is the knowledge of my little home in Staddle that comforts me while I am away. If that is how it is for them, then I cannot say I blame them. Though I suppose it is sad, in a sense, that you cannot all be together."

“It was a split made long, long ago.  We were all traveling together and at different points, groups broke off.  We came upon the mountains and they would not cross them and declared they loved the woods we were in too fondly to leave them,” he shrugged slightly, offering one of the fruit tarts over to Poppy as his appetite started to fade.  ”They are staying in their homes and with their loved ones and others of us, we have long since been cognizant of where their hearts reside.  We will miss them, but we must do what is right for ourselves and respect their decisions however selfish our own motivation might be.”

He smiled down to her, though the expression was tinted with a hint of sadness.  ”There is nothing quite like home and the comfort it brings, I would never dream to part a Hobbit from the Shire.”
