masteroftheseas:

Ossë snickered quietly through said nose as he grinned impishly. “Mm, well, I did make some alterations, naturally. I think people would notice if you suddenly had a look-alike wandering about.” He had briefly considered, back when he designed this fana, making fewer alterations and taking the opportunity to call Círdan his brother in a more literal sense. In the end, the need for subtlety and blending in beat the urge to copy his friend’s looks, though.

He hummed and tilted his head up so he could bump his nose against Círdan’s in an affectionate display, close enough to feel his breath on his lips. “Youth hardly makes a difference; you are still just as pleasing to the eye,” he murmured as his hand slid back to play idly along his hairline once more, fingers brushing against his ear. “Though I may be biased in my opinion.”

He breathed out a soft laugh when his age was mentioned.  He knew he showed his age more than most and stood in stark contrast to the ever youthful and fair faces of his kin.  It did not serve as a point of concern or dismay for him, but it was still touching to hear that Ossë found him pleasing to the eye even with the signs of age that weathered his face.

“You are allowed to be biased,” his voice hitched for one syllable in there from the touch that traced over his ear.  Of course he was aware it happened and started to chuckle at himself.  Idly, his fingers started to trace out looping circular patterns at the small of Ossë’s back.
