Poppy returned his bow with a polite curtsey before addressing him once more. "I've several elven friends, and they all speak of one day sailing away. I've tried to have them explain it to me, but none of it makes sense! Why do they wish to leave everyone else behind??"

“Ah, that is a very good question,” he motioned for her to walk with him as he led them to the sea wall.  From there, it overlooked the open harbor and even one of the boats roped to the dock.  Círdan took a seat on a bench, leaving room for her to join him.  ”For many of my kin, it is not leaving others behind but a chance to be reunited with those we love and miss dearly,” he explained.

“Far to the west lies our home and many have long since made the journey there and so few of us remain now as compared to the numbers we once had.  To sail is to go home, to see your family and friends once more and I will be here until all have had their chance to sail so none are left behind that do not wish to make the journey on their own.”
