masteroftheseas:

“Drat. My first four ideas so quickly denied,” Ossë chattered and laughed lightly. “Very well, nothing scaly, fin-covered or slimy.” He paused as though considering his own guidelines, still grinning. While a sea bird might be entertaining, this evening had been too pleasant to risk with a prank. Another night he could test the definition of ‘no sea creatures in the bed’.

But before he abandoned this fana, he stretched his neck to press a kiss to Círdan’s cheek. “Your wife will be back once her stomach is done complaining about actually having to work,” he promised softly as his eyes glowed brightly. It was a bit of an odd sight — one moment an elleth snuggled into the bed, and then she was gone, replaced the next moment by a similar-looking ellon who curled himself back into the same spot.

He chuckled, both at the idea of that fana being his wife and the fact that Ossë was dealing with a stomach for the first time in a long time.  He was rather used to the shifting forms and knew to hold still and allow them their own time, but he recognized the other form easily.  "Mm, the mysterious ellon that comes and goes like the tide,“ he hummed as he gathered the other in his arms once more to hold him close.

Really, he did not see too much of a difference in how they managed to fit together.  Yes, he was an inch or so taller than him and their builds were quite similar but things were not awkwardly arranged together.  "You still fit,” he smiled, pressing a kiss to Ossë’s hairline.
